The 1901 census shows a Bean family resident at Ling Common, Coltishall. There are three boys, Benjamin, George and Johnny. There were no Beans in East Harling. It is believed that the family moved from Hautbois to East Harling. Norfolk Roll of Honour for Hautbois lists three Beans as casualties, Benjamin, George and John.
